The animated movie of The Witcher is coming soon
The Witcher franchise has started warming up its cameras in recent days, thanks to #Witchmas on Netflix social media, but now there’s more news for fans. We have known since last January that an animated film is being developed in the universe by Andrzej Sapkowski. And now a teaser has been released.
And quite simple since the streaming platform just wanted to reveal the logo of “The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf”. This movie will tell the story of Vesemir, who is Geralt’s mentor. Logically this means that the events will be connected with the expected appearance in second season of The Witcher.
According to a brief description given by Netflix, he stated:
“Long before training Geralt, Vesemir begins his journey as a Charmer when the mysterious Deglan makes him his thanks to the Lau of Surprise.”
Behind ” Nightmare of the Wolf ” hides the Korean Studio Mir, which in the past has taken over the animation of “Legend of Korra” and “Voltron: Legendary Defender” on behalf of Netflix. The screenplay was written by Beau DeMayo, while as a showrunner we meet here Lauren S. Hissrich. Beau DeMayo had undertaken Episode 3 of The Witcher.
The 2nd season of The Witcher has stopped shooting a couple of times
Despite the fact of injury of Henry Cavill who broke his leg during the production of the second season and is now recovering at home, shooting continues as long as possible without him.
The shooting was stopped once during the last months because of pandemic created by COVID-19. A similar situation was created during March of this year. Kristofer Hivju, which is a new character in the series, tested positive shortly before the UK went into full lockdown.
Unfortunately, there is still no release date for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. But from what we know, the animated movie will be released sometime around next year.
