What do The Office and The Mandalorian have in common? One of them is a sci-fi series from a giant franchise and the other is one of the most beloved and adored comedy series of all time. They’re complete opposites in other words and yet they have one audience, their passionate fans.
It is common knowledge that The Mandalorian streaming numbers are sweeping the world. This according to various measurements that have been conducted recently, after all, it emerged as the top “pirate” series of torrents for 2020, but it seems that the tables have turned.
In Nielsen’s measurements of SVOD TV this week, The Office managed to beat Mando and Baby Yoda. This is like the 7th time in a row that the sitcom with Steve Carell reached the top of this Top 10.
The data revealed that more than 1.3 billion minutes of The Office were loaded this week alone. The Mandalorian follows with 300 million minutes less. We have to keep in mind here that The Office has become one of binge-watcher’s favorites, ever since it arrived on Netflix US.
The series has now moved to Peacock , the streaming service of NBCUniversal where it really scans and enjoys a renewed acceptance by the fans. NBC has also arranged to offer exclusive and unreleased bonus material with extra scenes for the fans.
This isn’t exactly the best news for those who had gotten used to The Office on Netflix, but the show seems to be doing just fine either ways.
