Silent Hill Creator Keiichiro Toyama unveiled some info about his new project recently, which is being developed under his studio: Bokeh Game Studio.
In a new video, Toyama talks about weighing different directions he wants to go with the new project. In the end, the choice fell on a rather dark title, but one that maintains his own personal style.
“It’s like going back to my roots, for example in the direction of horror,” said Toyama.
The video also gives us a first glimpse into conceptual art and what inspiration was used for it, especially from his journey through Asia. He describes parts of it as a “death game” from the Japanese manga genre, which is often associated with brutal worlds.
“The view I have of horror is that everyday life is shaken and normal people are driven into irrational situations,” he continues. “You’re on the edge emotionally while engaging in action or drama. That influenced me and I think my next game will show that. “
In addition to the horror elements, Toyama also wants to inspire the players. More details about the project like its name or plot, will be revealed in the future. Look at the video below for a full length description on the creative process from the creator of Silent Hill.
