We could see Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone in it.
It wasn’t until a couple of days ago that we received the confirmation that Alfred Molina would return as Doctor Octopus for the third Spider-Man Marvel adaptation with Tom Holland. Now all the rumours about a multiverse have come to life.
There are more reports that old characters from the cast will return for the sequel of “Far From Home”, which is described as the Avengers: Endgame of Spider-Man films. In this scenario, Tobey Maguire from the Sam Raimi trilogy and Andrew Garfield from “The Amazing Spider-Man” with return with their own versions of Spidey, to defeat a greater enemy.
In particular, the report says that Garfield will return for sure, while Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are trying to close the deal with Maguire, who is rumoured to be asking for a lot of money. The best part doesn’t end here either, because the same information says that Kirsten Dunst and Emma Stone might also make an appearance.
If everything works out we will be talking about the most epic Spider-Man movie ever made. It’s practically as if the Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse came to life.
The fact that Jamie Foxx’s Electro from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will also be joining the cast means that we will probably see all Spideys reunite in a Multiverse. Also worth noting is Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, that will act as Tom Holland’s mentor.
Jon Watts will return as the director for the third Spidey movie, with Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers in charge of the script. Marisa Tomei, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will also reprise their roles from the first two Marvel led Spider-Man films.
The yet-untitled Spider-Man 3 is scheduled to premiere on December 17th 2021.
